St. Rita Radio
– A Collaboration with Mission Ansgarius
In 2020, the married couple Pål and Erika, started St. Rita Radio, for more than 6 years they have taken on a remarkable task: bringing the Catholic faith to people across Norway through podcasts, catechesis, prayers and other Catholic content in Norwegian.
They have done this largely through volunteer work, with limited resources, but with an extraordinary love for the Church and a willingness to put in the hours. Year after year, they have built something truly valuable: a large library of Catholic content that is now used by thousands of people.
When Catholic Work Becomes a Shared Mission: St. Rita Radio & Mission Ansgarius
When Benedikte, founder of Mission Ansgarius, was introduced to Pål and Erika, she quickly discovered how much they shared the same vision. As Benedikte puts it:
“We talked about the need for good catechesis, prayers in our own languages, and stronger cooperation between Catholics across the Nordic countries. Working together therefore felt completely natural.”
Benedikte has built the app and software behind Mission Ansgarius, while Pål, Erika and the St. Rita Radio team have spent years creating, collecting and translating the content that makes the project possible. Their many years of work and the library they have built were a major reason Mission Ansgarius was able to launch in less than a year.
But St. Rita Radio's contribution goes beyond their content. Over the years, they have built a strong reputation and a community of thousands of users. For Mission Ansgarius, this existing work and trust have provided an important foundation for building an app for Catholics across the Nordic countries.
